Who & Why
Yellow Yoga Bus is a not for profit community organisation. It provides an opportunity for friends, family, and loved ones of those dealing with Depression, Anxiety and/or ‘Addiction’ to be acknowledged, encouraged and empowered in what they’re dealing with. The effect of Depression, Anxiety and ‘Addiction’ can never really be measured. We can scientifically and otherwise define the effect on the individual with the condition or dependence, but how do we begin to understand the effect on their friends, family, loved ones and their wider communities?
Yellow Yoga Bus provides hatha yoga classes as a means to release tension and learn new ways of dealing with stress using Yoga’s ancient philosophy and breathing techniques. It also engages inspirational speakers to bring hope and positivity, while connecting friends, family, and loved ones with resources to support them in daily life.
Yellow is widely regarded as the ‘Happy Colour’. It represents sunshine and Vitamin D which has been linked to improvements in mood and the prevention of several diseases. The ‘Yellow Bus’ is a symbol of community, diversity, connectedness and of course travel, while Yoga represents the value of accepting ourselves and our world, and of being in control of our state of mind, no matter what the circumstances.
Friends, family and loved ones can of those dealing with Depression, Anxiety and/or Addiction can feel isolated, suffer severe stress, and cause their own health to deteriorate but it doesn’t have to be this way!
